Fight against climate change
In order to reduce the emissions associated with the event, different actions will be carried out:
- promotion of public transport for athletes and the public by means of a transport card to be purchased at the information point at the airport and in the Expo area.
- the “1B1V” one ticket one glass campaign in the expo area, whereby a public transport ticket dated on the days of the event can be exchanged for a reusable glass.
- the use of efficient vehicles by the organization
- sports facilities with renewable energy sources and the use of efficient lighting and generation systems by the organization.
- there is also the collaboration with Coca Cola through its Hospitality for the Climate program, which involves more than 300 hoteliers in practices to reduce CO2 emissions.
If you want to get involved in the fight against climate change, take a walk along the promenade of Torremolinos https://turismotorremolinos.es/en/discover/area/the-promenade/ or use public transport which generates less emissions but, if you bring your car, here you can check the low emission zone of Torremolinos https://www.andalucia.com/torremolinos/low-emission-zone
These and other actions such as offsetting emissions through a plantation planned for early 2025 to be carried out by the City Council, will help make the 2024 World Triathlon Championship Finals Torremolinos-Andalucía a Carbon Neutral Event.
So now you know: Join the carbon neutral event, use public transport and come plant with us in 2025!
